蠶蛹蛋白纖維是綜合利用高分子技術(shù)、化纖紡絲技術(shù)、生物工程技術(shù)，將蠶蛹蛋白與天然纖維素共混后，制成的新型生物質(zhì)纖維。
蠶蛹在我國有一千多年的藥用史。現(xiàn)代研究表明，蠶蛹具有較高的營養(yǎng)價值，而從蠶蛹中萃煉的優(yōu)質(zhì)蛋白——PC，是由18種不同氨基酸組成的蛋白化合物。PC中18種氨基酸的含量都在15 mg/g以上，其中絲氨酸、蘇氨酸、色氨酸、酪氨酸等對人體皮膚十分有益，具有呵護肌膚的特殊功效。
